A Behind the Scenes Peek into the World of Interior Decorating with an Entryway Refresh

Check out the video for a glimpse into the creative world of Interior Decorating as I show you the process I use to give my Entryway a Refresh!

Goal: Creating a neutral & practical space for family & guests.
Items Wanted: Bench, place to hang coats & place for guests to put keys etc.

To start off this project, I chose a beautiful low back cane bench with upholstered seat and a simple wood coat tree with shelf, making it perfect for guests to hang coats, purses, keys, etc.

I like accenting benches with pillows and will be using 2 to 3 on my bench.

TIP: To save money and storage space use pillow covers!

For this project I chose a pretty green one and a couple of lumbar pillow covers with prints. Below are Amazon links with more details!

To add some texture I decided to go with a woven oval rug. Not only does it add visual interest, but it also helps to break up the wood elements and ties the space together. Check out the links below for a great neutral oval rug.

Now, onto the walls. A large, simple scenic print adds a focal point and injects personality into the space without overwhelming it. The link below will take you to an Amazon listing where there is a wide variety of beautiful landscape art with different size and frame options.

But what about the coat tree? When not in use, it can look a bit bare. So I decided to hang a crocheted beach bag on it and fill with greenery - functional and stylish!

I then decided to finish off the look and add balance by setting a small wicker basket on the other side of the bench and fill with greenery. This adds some more touches of natural beauty to the space.

I'm a visual person and as an Interior Decorator this process helps me bring my visions to life.

Decorating your home takes time and with a clear goal and plan in place, it becomes easier and more enjoyable.
