Spray Paint and Dirt: A Creative Combination for Textured Home Decor
Have you ever thought about getting creative with dirt to add texture to your home decor?
Hi, I'm Jennifer Underwood with J.U. Designs and I'm excited to share with you a fun and easy DIY project that will completely transform a thrifted vase into a stunning piece for your home.
In this instructional video, I walk you through the simple steps of turning a plain thrifted vase into a stylish statement piece using the following supplies: (some of the supplies are Amazon links and are clickable. - Thrifted Vase
- Rustoleum Black Flat Spray Paint (click for more details and to purchase)
- Dirt
- Drop Cloth, old sheet or large piece of cardboard
- Vinyl Disposable Gloves
- Light Grit Sandpaper
The process is pretty straightforward:
- Spray paint the entire vase
- While the paint is still tacky, rub dirt all over it
- Next spray paint the whole vase again
- Let the paint dry completely
- Once it is dry lightly sand it to smooth it out a bit
- Now it is ready to wipe off with a damp cloth
- Your vase is now ready to be styled and enjoyed in your home
I hope this DIY project has inspired you to get creative and breathe new life into your decor!
